Celebrate with us the 40th anniversary of the G-SHOCK series and choose one of these spectacular metal-clad watches, inspired by the stones that adventurers used to navigate since time immemorial. The mineral colors used by ancient sailors have been reproduced in the design of these watches through forging, ion plating and masking processes, giving each bezel a unique look. The straps are made of translucent or colored resin, and have a unique texture using Garal's hot stamping and color molding techniques. These limited edition watches are a celebration of G-SHOCK's 40th anniversary: the words 'SINCE 1983' appear on the dial, the case back is engraved with the 40th anniversary logo designed by Eric Haze and on the belt loop are four stars representing 40 years.

1. Expression of stony textures by bevel forging
As part of the metal-coated bezel finishing process, we use forging technology with special dyes, which add a mineral touch and robustness to the entire dial. We then buff the uneven areas and polish the entire bezel, from top to sides, to a fine or mirror finish. We express the shape, texture and brilliance of each stone through the use of unique metal processing technologies.

The laser engraving on the bezel is overlaid with multicolor ion plating to recreate the crystalline pattern of calcite and its magnificent brilliance in refracted light. The dial and the strap are decorated with the same pattern.

2. Color ion plating that illuminates the metal bezel
In ancient times, sailors already used stones that gave off certain colors depending on the light source and the viewing angle as a kind of compass to find the position of the sun. Its beautiful guiding light is rendered in the ion-plated finish that brings out the coloration of each stone. Two-color ion coating goes further to produce complex, multi-layered shades by first applying to an entire surface and then masking off certain areas to reapply with an additional color.
